CloudLinux 7 servers attempting to boot using the kernel 3.10.0-962.3.2.lve1.5.86.el7 will immediately crash and display a null pointer dereference error similar to the following:
BUG: unable to handle kernel NULL pointer dereference at:
The CloudLinux team is aware of the error and is tracking it with the task CLKRN-1764. The resolution at this point is to boot into a kernel older than 3.10.0-962.3.2.lve1.5.86.el7, such as 3.10.0-962.3.2.lve1.5.85.el7. You can do this by using your VNC console and selecting an older kernel on boot instead of 3.10.0-962.3.2.lve1.5.86.el7.
You can avoid your server crashing upon reboot by updating to kernel-3.10.0-962.3.2.lve1.5.87.el7 or later.
